Hours and minutes calculator
Type each time the way you have it, as 7:30, 7h 30m or 7.5, and choose whether it adds or takes away. The total is shown both ways, and it does not wrap at 24 hours.
A worked example
A week of odd shifts, written three different ways, with a 45 minute correction taken off at the end.
| Entry | As typed | In minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Add | 7:30 | 450 |
| Add | 8h 15m | 495 |
| Add | 6.5 | 390 |
| Take away | 0:45 | 45 |
| Total | 21:30 | 1,290, or 21.5 hours |
How it is worked out
Every entry becomes minutes: 7:30 is 7 × 60 + 30, and 7.5 is 7.5 × 60. The minutes are added or taken away.
The total is shown as hours and minutes, and as decimal hours, minutes ÷ 60 to two places.

Questions
Can I type hours as a decimal?
Yes. 7.5 is read as 7 hours 30 minutes. You can also type 7:30 or 7h 30m, and mix all three in one list.
What happens if the total goes below zero?
It is shown with a minus sign, such as -1:30, which usually means more time was taken away than was added.
Does it handle more than 24 hours?
Yes. Hours are not wrapped at midnight, so a week of 38 hours and 15 minutes is shown as 38:15.
