What is in the file
- Template, blank, with 31 rows under date, venue or job, start and the rest.
- Example, the same sheet filled in for Diego Ramos.
- How to use, with the steps and the mistakes below.
The hours column is a formula, not a number typed in. It takes the finish from the start, counts a shift that runs past midnight correctly, and takes off the unpaid break.
How to fill it in
- Use one row per shift, including two shifts on the same day.
- Write where each shift was worked, so the hours can be split by site or job later.
- Type the start and finish as times, and unpaid breaks in minutes.
- Check the month’s total against the roster before it is approved.
Common mistakes
- Two shifts on one day squeezed into a single row
- A site left off, so the hours cannot be matched to the right place later
- A month approved without comparing it with what was rostered
When a spreadsheet stops being enough
Roster Flow records every clock in against the venue it happened at, and the reports show rostered against worked hours per person and per venue, over one to thirteen weeks.
Questions
What is on the monthly timesheet template?
6 columns: date, venue or job, start, finish, and 2 more. The blank sheet gives you 31 rows, and the example is the same grid filled in for Diego Ramos: a month of shifts with a venue or job column for each.
Does the monthly timesheet template work out the hours?
Yes. Hours is a formula, not a number typed in: it takes the finish from the start, counts a shift that runs past midnight correctly, and takes the unpaid break off. Type a start and a finish and the hours follow.
Can I use the monthly timesheet template in Google Sheets?
Yes. Open monthly-timesheet.xlsx from Google Drive, or use File, then Import, then Upload with monthly-timesheet.csv. The grid and its example come across either way.
Do I need an account to download the monthly timesheet template?
No. monthly-timesheet.xlsx, monthly-timesheet.csv and monthly-timesheet.pdf are plain links. There is no sign up, no email address asked for, and nothing to install.
