Free salon roster template
One row for each shift, with the chair or room it needs, so two stylists are never booked into the same chair and the late night has a therapist on. The paid hours add up in the sheet.

What is in the file
- Template, blank, with 24 rows under day, name, role and the rest.
- Example, the same sheet filled in for Juniper Hair and Beauty.
- How to use, with the steps and the mistakes below.
The hours column is a formula, not a number typed in. It takes the finish from the start, counts a shift that runs past midnight correctly, and takes off the unpaid break.
How to fill it in
- Write one row for each shift, with the chair or room it needs.
- Check no chair or room has two people on at once, especially on late nights and Saturdays.
- Roster apprentices alongside somebody who can supervise their work.
- Check the week against availability, and against the Hair and Beauty Award or your agreement for breaks and weekend work.
Common mistakes
- Two stylists booked into one chair
- A late night with nobody on who does the treatments booked
- Breaks left off busy days, when they are most likely to be missed
When a spreadsheet stops being enough
Roster Flow takes availability and leave from staff phones, publishes the roster to everybody at once, and turns clock ins into timesheets.
Questions
What is on the salon roster template?
9 columns: day, name, role, start, and 5 more. The blank sheet gives you 24 rows, and the example is the same grid filled in for Juniper Hair and Beauty: stylists, therapists and apprentices, with the chair or room each needs.
Does the salon roster template work out the hours?
Yes. Paid hours is a formula, not a number typed in: it takes the finish from the start, counts a shift that runs past midnight correctly, and takes the unpaid break off. Type a start and a finish and the paid hours follow.
Can I use the salon roster template in Google Sheets?
Yes. Open salon-roster.xlsx from Google Drive, or use File, then Import, then Upload with salon-roster.csv. The grid and its example come across either way.
Do I need an account to download the salon roster template?
No. salon-roster.xlsx, salon-roster.csv and salon-roster.pdf are plain links. There is no sign up, no email address asked for, and nothing to install.
