What rostering software costs in Australia
The published prices for twelve products, how each one is worked out, and the things that change the bill after you have read the headline number. Every figure is from the company's own pricing page, read on the same day.
Prices read 2 October 2026The short answer
For a small Australian team, published rostering prices sit between about six and thirteen dollars per person per month, and several products do not publish a price at all. The headline number is rarely the bill: minimum spends, add ons, annual terms and tax move it, and products that charge per team rather than per person change the shape of it entirely.
Roster Flow is priced by band rather than per person: 5 staff free, then a flat price for the whole team at each size, in Australian dollars with GST included. The bands are on the pricing page, and the table below shows how that compares with the way the others are set.

What moves the bill after the headline price
- A minimum monthly spend, which sets the bill for a small team whatever the per person price says
- A minimum number of seats, paid for whether or not you have that many people
- Add ons for the parts you assumed were included, such as payroll, HR or reporting
- Annual billing, where the advertised rate needs a year up front to get
- Whether the price is before or after GST, which is ten per cent either way
- Who counts as a user: everybody on the books, or the people who worked this month
- Per team pricing, which is cheap for a big team and dear for a small one
- A price in US dollars, which moves with the exchange rate and may add card fees
Working out your own number
For a per person product, multiply the published price by the number of people you would put on it, then check it against the minimum spend. A team of four on a six dollar per person plan is twenty four dollars, which a thirty dollar minimum turns into thirty. Then add the tax treatment and any add on the features you need sit behind.
For Roster Flow the arithmetic is the band, because the price does not follow headcount inside it:
| Team size | Roster Flow | Per person, at that price |
|---|---|---|
| 3 staff | Free | Nothing |
| 8 staff | $29 a month | $3.63 each |
| 14 staff | $49 a month | $3.50 each |
| 30 staff | $79 a month | $2.63 each |
| 60 staff | $129 a month | $2.15 each |
Every venue is included at every size, and every feature but the payroll connection is on the free plan. Paid plans start with 28 days free and no card. Above 250 staff there is no published price, so ask us.
Where the figures came from
- Each company's own pricing page, read on 2 October 2026. The pages used are listed on each comparison, product by product.
- Roster Flow's prices come from the plan table the invoice reads, so this page and the bill agree.
- Nothing here comes from a review site, a forum, a sales conversation or memory.
- Where a company does not publish a price, the table says so rather than estimating one.

Questions about the cost
How much does rostering software cost in Australia?
Published prices for a small team mostly sit between about six and thirteen dollars per person per month, and several products publish no price at all. Minimum spends, add ons and whether the price includes GST move the real bill, so read the pricing page of anything you are comparing.
Why is Roster Flow priced by band rather than per person?
A per person price makes a busy month of casuals dearer than a quiet one, and makes adding somebody a decision about money. A band is a flat price for the whole team at that size, so the bill is the same whether the week is busy or not.
Is there really a free plan?
Yes. Up to 5 active staff, permanently, with every feature but the payroll connection and with every venue included. It is not a trial and it does not ask for a card.
What is a minimum spend, and why does it matter?
Some products set a floor on the monthly invoice whatever your headcount. A team of four on a six dollar per person plan is twenty four dollars of usage, but a thirty dollar minimum means thirty dollars on the bill. For a small team the minimum, not the per person rate, often sets the price.
Are these prices current?
They were read from each company’s public pricing page on the day the page states, and prices change. Each comparison page lists the exact pages used, so check the source before deciding.
